CHS Boys Defeated Panthers 2nd Time in 30 Years, Head Back to Norfolk Friday

NORFOLK – The Columbus boys are heading back to Norfolk Invitational Friday, fresh off beating the panthers in a dual for the 2nd time in 30 years.

The Discoverers outscored the Panthers 155 to 95, winning 11 of the 16 events. Joseph Braasch took first in the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash, while Nick Balerud won both the 800 and 3200. Michael Koch snagged gold in the 400 and Long Jump, while the CHS boys dominated the relays winning the 4×100, 4×400, and 4×800.

Garrett Krumland rounded out the gold medals for CHS, taking home first in the shot put.

The boys will try to keep the momentum from the strong performance going with they compete at the invitational in Norfolk on Friday.
