COLUMBUS – A talented Columbus High soccer duo signed their letters of intent to play at Central Community College.
Luis Tovar and Caleb Esch signed their letters in front of a packed crowd of their peers on Friday afternoon.
“I’m excited, especially because I get to continue playing with Caleb, and with some old teammates that I played with last year, so I’m looking forward to it,” says Tovar.
“I’m baffled at how many people came out here to support me, and I’m just glad I can go continue playing with Luis Tovar, and some past players that graduated here last year,” says Esch.
Head CHS Soccer Coach John Arlt says the two young men had a huge impact on the program during their time as players.
“At this school, and in Class A and Class B. I think if you’re a varsity player as a Freshman. That speaks volumes for you, and both of these guys work hard, and continue to work hard to improve their skills to really lead the team this year,” says Arlt.
Tovar and Esch plan to transfer and pursue further education after they are finished at Central.
