The Columbus High Girls finished their seasons at state on Thursday, with the doubles teams making the schools All-Time Wins list.
Regi Zakrzewski and Sara Kruse won their first round at state over a pair from Omaha Westside but fell in round 2, against a solid Elkhorn South team.
“All of the girls played good tennis today, the losses today were due to our opponents good play,” said CHS Head Coach Dave Licari.
The duo finished the season with 26 wins and land at #4 on the wins list for a CHS #1 Doubles team. Zakrzewski currently holds the #1 spot with Rachel Klatt, where the two entered the state tournament with 32 wins in 2017.
Monykka Hazlett and Mia Janssen also landed on the All-Time list, finish 4th in wins for a #2 Doubles team a 25. The pair fell in round one of the State Tournament to Lincoln Pius X.
In the Singles Divison, Natalie Brutty Won her opening match over Omaha Northwest before falling to Millar North, in the #2 slot, while Lauren Benck fell in the #1 division to Lincoln Northeast’s Katie Le.
“It was a successful season overall for the girls, as we finished 5-2 in duals, won the Columbus Invite, and finished third at the conference meet,” said Licari.
