PIERCE – Still searching for their first win of the season, the Lakeview Vikings (0-11) fell just short of pulling off a road upset on Tuesday as they lost to Pierce (6-6) 37-34.
In a defensive struggle, the Vikings would use a second quarter surge to take a lead at halftime, as they had a 19-13 after two quarters of play.
Cadge Janssen and Jaden Johnson led the way offensively for the Vikings, as the two would combine to score 18 points.
“Overall I think we did a great job defensively against a very tough Pierce team, said Lakeview head coach Bryce Roth. “The key for us is to continue to improve defensively, and if we are able to do that, we are going to be a tough team to face towards the end of the season.”
The Vikings would trail by just one heading into the final quarter of action, but they were unable to come out on top, as they found their way on the wrong end of a 3 point loss.
