LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — Matt Davison, a former teammate of new Nebraska head football coach Scott Frost and a member of the 1997 National Championship team has been hired as the associate athletic director for football.

Davison has been the color analyst for basketball and football games on the Husker Sports Network.

As of now, the Nebraska Athletic Department said Davison’s broadcasting duties are undetermined.

Both Athletic Director Bill Moos and Frost said Sunday that Davison played a key role in helping Frost get the Nebraska job.

Davison, who was a split end for Nebraska in college, finished his collegiate career ranking second all-time to Johnny Rodgers among Nebraska receivers with 93 receptions and 1,456 yards.
