Accident Causes Nearly $5,000 In Damages

COLUMBUS – A single-car accident on Saturday caused nearly $5,000 in damages.

The Columbus Police Departments reports that the accident occurred on 23rd Street, just east of 18th Avenue. A sudden stop of traffic caused a 52-year-old female to swerve off of the road to avoid ramming into the vehicle in front of her.

The woman crashed into a light pole, causing significant damage to her vehicle as well as the surrounding area. The vehicle suffered $1,000 in damages, $3,500 worth of damage was caused to the light pole, and three traffic signs in the area were also damaged, assessed at $100 each. The woman did not suffer any injuries in the accident.
