COLUMBUS – The Boy Scout Food Drive that was scheduled for this past Saturday, has been moved to April 21st, due to weather.
Local Boy Scouts will be collecting non-perishable food items on Saturday, from 8 a.m. to noon. You can participate in the event by placing the non-perishable food items on your porch for pickup on Saturday.
Officials say the food that is collected will be donated to the local food pantry, and will go towards helping people throughout the area who are unable to purchase food for themselves.
Foods the group is hoping to collect include peanut butter, canned fruit and vegetables, macaroni and cheese, pork and beans, canned tuna and chicken, pasta and sauce, cereal, boxed meals, and pancake mix. The group asks for no glass containers.
