COLUMBUS – The College of American Pathologists (CAP) has awarded accreditation to the Columbus Community Hospital (CCH) Laboratory.
The accreditation is based on the results of a recent on-site inspection as part of CAP’s accreditation programs. The CCH Laboratory is one of more than 8,000 CAP-accredited facilities worldwide.
“The laboratory is proud to have met the high standards which are set by the College of American Pathologists Laboratory Accreditation Program,” said Steffan R. Lacey, MD, CCH’s laboratory medical director. “The accuracy of the testing performed by the Columbus Community Hospital Laboratory benefits the patients we serve and helps guide their providers to ensure accurate diagnoses.”
During the accreditation process, inspectors examined the laboratory’s records and quality control of procedures for the last two years. Inspectors also examined laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety program and record, and overall management.
