COLUMBUS – The Columbus Community Hospital was recently recognized for its quality in a nationwide list of hospitals.
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services recently updated its Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings, which rates over 4,500 hospitals across the country. CCH was one of 293 hospitals that were given a five star rating, and was just one of two Nebraska hospitals to receive the rating.
1,086 hospitals were given four stars, 1,264 were given three, 800 received two stars, and 282 were rated at just one star. The rating system looks at mortality rates, safety of care, readmission rates, overall patient experience, and effectiveness of care, among other criteria.
