SCHUYLER, Nebraska. – This coming Saturday CHI Schuyler will host a health fair aimed at creating better self-awareness.
“CHI Health Fair provides people with the opportunity to get blood rated exams at a very low price,” says Cluadia Lanuza CHI health coordinator.
The Center for Disease Control estimates that 1 in 7 people in America have a chronic disease and, according to Lanuza, a good way to find out is by getting a blood test.
“Theses exam can tell us how our body is working, it can also tell us if there is something wrong ,” Lanuza adds. “It helps diagnose or detect anything that is not working well in our body and can help us get the right treatment.”
Participants will have the opportunity to be screened for such things as blood pressure , body mass index , colon cancer and even getting a flu shot.
“This is the time of the year when we start to see people getting sick by the flu,” Lanuza explains. ” It is very important that people start to get vaccinated now because it takes about two weeks for the body to build resistance after the injection.
The BeeHealthy fair will take place Saturday October 21 from 7:30 to 10 am, anyone wanting to get any blood work done must fast 12 hours prior to the exam.
