Columbus Locals Were Fitted for Amtrykes

COLUMBUS – Adults and children were fitted for Amtrykes at the Columbus Wellness Center on Saturday.

There is a 5k one mile event called the Run Walk and Roll in October where anyone and everyone is invited to participate for a good cause.

“The proceeds from that go towards adaptive bikes and trikes for people within our community,” explained physical therapist at Wiggles and Giggles Therapy for Kids, Therese Chase.

Chase said anyone who is a good fit for the Amtrykes that were displayed will get a fully funded one for themselves coming from the money made during the event in October.

“Our event was inspired by Team Hoyt and basically it’s a father and son team. The son is unable to do a lot of things and the father pretty much takes him through Iron Man, through all sorts of different races and pulls him along while he swims. It’s really inspiring and it inspired our event just for all abilities to participate so that’s why we have the proceeds go to such an awesome thing,” Chase added.

The bikes rate from eight hundred to one thousand dollars on average and come from the Bikes and Trykes of Central Nebraska.
