Columbus Man Arrested for DUI After Pursuit, Accident

COLUMBUS – A Columbus man was arrested early Friday morning for DUI, after leading police on a pursuit and damaging local property.

Columbus Police say in a press release that Caleb Blomberg, 27, was driving erratically in a 1997 Dodge Ram Pickup, when a pursuit with police initiated at 12:43 a.m. Friday morning.

The pursuit went for seven blocks, around 9th Street and 18th Avenue and ending on the 1500 block of 9th Street, says the release.

Blomberg drove into a yard and collided with a fence, before attempting to flee on foot, says the release.  Blomberg was arrested a short time later, say CPD.

Blomberg faces charges for felony flight to avoid arrest in a motor vehicle, DUI 2nd offense, willful reckless driving, refusal of a breath test, refusal of a chemical test, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
