FREMONT – The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has released the results from its participation in a national campaign.
The sheriff’s office was one of the many Nebraska sheriff offices to receive a grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety for overtime traffic enforcement in conjunction with the nationwide “You Drink, You Drive, You Lose” campaign.
On September 3, the sheriff’s office conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Highway 275, south of Morningside Road. During this checkpoint, deputies made contact with 416 vehicles.
The sheriff’s Office also provided 15 deputies working a total of 248.75 overtime hours. Deputies were in contact with a total of 756 vehicles, and gave out a total of 159 citations. The results for the entire grant period are as follows:
