Columbus – A crash on Highway 81 has shut down both southbound lanes of traffic in Columbus Thursday evening.
The crash occurred shortly before 7:45 pm in front of Dairy Queen just south of the viaduct. Columbus Fire and Rescue crews were dispatched to the scene of the accident while police worked to direct traffic.
Smaller vehicles were allowed to pass through Pawnee Park, however semi drivers had to wait it out until tow trucks were able to clear the roadway of the vehicles.
Columbus police conducted a field sobriety test on one of the female subjects at the scene. No ambulance transport was needed and the accident is still currently being investigated.
