Interlocal Agreement has City, County Combining Dispatch Forces

COLUMBUS – Following approval by both the city and county governments, dispatch forces will be combined for Columbus and Platte County authorities.

An interlocal agreement will go before the Columbus City Council Monday night to combine the dispatch efforts into a single dispatch center.  The new dispatch center will be overseen by a board consisting of two Platte County Board members, the Columbus Mayor,  a city council member, and a fifth member that is appointed but is not a member of either of the two previously mentioned entities, details the agreement.

The City of Columbus will fund initial costs, and Platte County will reimburse the city for operating costs in the future, according to the agreement.
