Keene Memorial Library Board to Discuss Accreditation Process

FREMONT – The Keene Memorial Library will have their regular board meeting on Monday.

The board has a light agenda but Library Director Tina Walker expects the meeting to be a little lengthy. She says the discussion on the accreditation process itself could take around an hour.

“We’re just going to go through how accreditation happens. I’m going to explain to the board the different times of the year we have to do different things,” said Walker. “It’s more of an education for them. The accreditation is done. We’ve been accredited for three years. But there’s so many new board members and they don’t know all the details of it.”

The other agenda item under new business is a review of item #7 of the library’s Internet/Computer Access policy.

“We are looking at different ways to give the high school students access to computers, and how we have our computers segregated by different types of computers,” said Walker. “We’re just going to have a discussion with the board about what they think we should do in the future, and how we can make access better for people.”

The Keene Memorial Library Board Meeting will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The meeting will be held in the library board room on the second floor of the library.
