Ken Misfeldt Inducted into Baseball Hall of Fame

A former Columbus man was one of six people inducted into the Nebraska-Iowa Oldtimers Baseball Club Hall of Fame.

Ken Misfeldt was inducted alongside Kirk Nelson, Curt Kaufman, Ray Wood, Don Story, and Bob Greco, says a press release. The induction was held on March 3rd at the Knights of Columbus Hall in South Omaha.

A press release says Misfeldt coached several college baseball clubs including;  Wayne State, Northern Iowa, Mt. St. Clare, Iowa Western, Dana College and Midland University.

Misfeldt also played on Arlington’s Class B state championship team in 1976, before playing at Hutchinson Community College and Northwest Missouri State University. He also played several years of semipro ball at Arlington, Nebraska City, Lincoln and Columbus, says a press release.

Misfeldt currently works for Federal Express and resides in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Misfeldt also wrote for the sports section of the Columbus Telegram for several years.

His brother, Jon Misfeldt, serves as Assistant Activities Director for Columbus High School.
