COLUMBUS – A Columbus man who has been missing for over a year has been found in Colorado.
The Nebraska State Patrol announced Tuesday that 22-year-old Joseph A. Voecks was taken into custody by the United States Marshals Service on Monday in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Voecks has been missing since January 14, 2018.
Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol had worked numerous leads since Voecks was reported missing by his family, and on February 7th, information was developed which indicated Voecks was in the Colorado Springs area.
Voecks was located on February 11th by the U.S. Marshals Service in Denver after assistance from the offices in Sioux City and Omaha, and was taken into custody on two felony warrants. The warrants are for Criminal Attempt of a Class 3 Felony from Nance County, and 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a minor from Platte County.
Voecks is in custody in Colorado, and awaiting extradition to Nebraska.
