New Statue Unveiled At CCH

COLUMBUS – The Columbus Community Hospital dedicated a brand new statue on Tuesday morning.

Deemed as the “Respect For Service” statue, the piece was commissioned by the former Columbus Community Hospital Auxiliary. The statue was dedicated at a ceremony in honor of those who continue their work today as volunteers.

The Auxiliary supported the financial and service endeavors of CCH for more than 40 years. From the early 1970s until April 2016, it donated more than $1.8 million to the hospital for program advancement and the purchase of medical equipment.

The Auxiliary commissioned the statue in 2016 before merging with the hospital’s volunteer program. The statue was created by Fred Hoppe to honor the history of the Auxiliary and the contributions it made to the hospital.
