COLUMBUS – NPPD says two of their communities have power once again.
Nebraska Public Power says power was restored to 240 customers in Butte, at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Sunday. A mobile generator will be used until permanent repairs can be made, said NPPD.
Atkinson also had power restored at 5:50 p.m. on Sunday, for 903 customers that were without power since Friday, says NPPD. A mobile transformer was used to restore power, and will remain in place until a sub-transmission line can be rebuilt between O’Neill and Atkinson, says NPPD. 39 structures along that line were damaged during the blizzard, says NPPD.
NPPD says as of Sunday evening, 9 customers in Ogallala remained without power, and six structures need to be replaced. Crews were set to work until dark Sunday evening, and would finish any remaining work on Monday morning, says NPPD. Materials needed to be moved from York, and were delayed because of 1-80 closing on Saturday, says NPPD.
NPPD saw a total of approximately 4,900 power outages.
