COLUMBUS – Cornhusker Public Power District says they saw just over 1,000 power outages during Wednesday’s storm.
CPPD President Clay Gibbs says 5 power poles were broken during the storm, with the outages coming throughout almost the entirety of their service area. Issues included trees falling on or blowing through lines, as well as lighting strikes.
Gibbs says a lightning strike caused one of their substations to take damage.
Gibbs says power has since been restored to all customers.
