MEAD – Three people have been arrested on numerous weapons and other charges after a multi-department investigation converged on a Saunders County residence last Thursday.

The Saunders County Sheriff’s Office and the III Corps Drug Task Force raided the house and arrested Christopher Frommie, 36, Lindsay Blair, 28, and Heather Morgan, 32, on suspicion of committing a raft of gun- and bomb-related crimes, Sheriff Kevin Stukenholtz said. They recovered 15 firearms (at least one with a defaced serial number), four explosive devices (two rigged to a car parked outside) and three silencers, and a small amount of methamphetamine and marijuana.

Three children, each belonging to Morgan, lived at the home. One is a toddler, one is 8 years old, one is 10. They were turned over to their biological father.

The three suspects are charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a defaced firearm, four counts of possession of a destructive device, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, three counts of child neglect, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, the sheriff said.

“I think it’s fair to say there is some potential danger or threat there to law enforcement, or anybody else who came around the place that he was concerned about,” the sheriff said.

Frommie was also charged with 15 counts of possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person because he is a convicted felon, Stukenholtz said.

The guns ran the gamut from rifles to shotguns to a Mac 11 machine pistol.

The Nebraska State Patrol bomb squad was called in after the explosives were found. All were detonated on site — the two in the car were removed from the vehicle beforehand. It appears someone tried to rig the car to explode but wasn’t successful, Stukenholtz said.

The house is off Highway 77 about three miles north of Mead.
