COLUMBUS – A brand new bike share service has recently been started in Columbus. It was established by the nonprofit organization Columbus In Action, or CIA. Stations can be found outside of the Ramada Inn, the Columbus Community Hospital, and the Columbus Wellness Center.
“Obviously, riding a bike in general is healthy for you, which is why the hospital likes it,” said Bryan Chochon, Vice President of Great Plains State Bank. “I know a lot of people haven’t explored the town and the trails that we have, and I know from people on the trails committees that they’ve done a lot to help us out so you can explore those different spaces.”
Bikes can be rented through a smartphone app called Movatic, with the cost being $2 to unlock a bike, and $1.50 for every half-hour that the bike is in use.
