Semi-Trailer, Vehicle Collision Injures Two

COLUMBUS – A collision between a vehicle and a semi-trailer sent two individuals to the hospital on Wednesday.

Columbus Police say that a witness reportedly saw a vehicle traveling westbound on 14th Street run a red light at the intersection of 14th and 33rd Avenue. The vehicle then collided with the trailer of a semi-trailer truck traveling northbound in the outside lane of 33rd Avenue.

The Columbus Police Department and Columbus Fire & Rescue responded to the accident, and the driver of the vehicle was transported to Columbus Community Hospital by ambulance. Columbus Police say that a passenger was also transported to the hospital, but by a personal vehicle. The driver of the semi-trailer was uninjured in the accident.

The identities of the injured individuals, as well as the extent of their injuries are unknown at this time. The accident is currently under investigation.
