OMAHA – Severe weather could be on its way to the region Sunday evening.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for portions of four states including Antelope, Boone, Boyd, Brown, Cedar, Dixon, Holt, Keya Paha, Knox, Pierce and Rock counties in Nebraska until midnight Sunday.
NWS forecasters say a weather system will be moving northeast Sunday, bringing with it the possibility of 70 mph wind gusts. The NWS says scattered large hail and isolated tornadoes may be possible as well.
A storm system resulted in a brief severe thunderstorm warning in Keya Paha County Saturday evening.
