Southeast Community College Health Sciences Project Underway

BEATRICE – The guaranteed maximum cost of a new Health Sciences Addition on the Lincoln Campus of Southeast Community College has been approved by the school’s board of governors.

Meeting in Lincoln Tuesday, the SCC Board set the maximum at just over $25.5 million.  Excavation and foundation work is underway on the new addition, at the west edge of the Lincoln Campus main parking area.  Hausman Construction Inc. is the contractor for the project.

SCC Board member Kathy Boellstorff chairs the Finance and Facilities Committee.  She says college building projects at campuses in Lincoln, Beatrice and Milford are going well.

SCC has been using the school’s capital improvements levy to modernize campus facilities across the college.

At a board meeting Tuesday in Lincoln, officials approved roof replacements at the Beatrice Campus Kennedy Center and the Milford Campus Dunlap Center.

Weathercraft, of Lincoln was approved as the contractor for the two projects, totaling just under $432,000.  The SCC Board also approved purchase of a heating ventilation and cooling unit for the Beatrice Campus Kennedy Center, from Gardner and Associates, for $44,400.   It will be installed by Beatrice Mechanical Services, at a cost of $38,200.
