Strong Second Half Leads Lady Discoverers Past Kearney

COLUMBUS – The Columbus Lady Discoverers and Kearney Bearcats met at Wilderness Park on a beautiful Thursday afternoon as Columbus was able to earn a 3-0 victory.

The first half was a barn burner as neither team was able to generate much offensively. The ball stayed in the midfield for the majority of the first half as the two teams tried to figure each other out.

After halftime, Columbus would use the home field advantage to their benefit as they were able to jump out to a quick 1-0 lead.

With Kearney threatening to equalize, the Lady Discoverers would be opportunistic and scored their second goal of the game midway through the second half to lead 2-0.

One final goal late in the waning moments would be the cherry on top for Columbus, as they managed a 3-0 shutout over Kearney.
