Two-Vehicle Accident Causes $27,000 In Damage

COLUMBUS – A two-vehicle accident in Columbus on Tuesday night caused an estimated $27,000 in damage.

According to the Platte County Sheriff’s Office, the accident took place around 8:39 PM, at the intersection of 53rd Street and 18th Avenue, just north of Lost Creek Parkway. Sheriff’s deputies and ambulances responded to the scene, but no injuries were reported from the accident.

The driver of one of the vehicles involved was identified as Lazaro Gonzalez of Columbus, who received citations for a stop sign violation and failure to yield. Gonzalez’s vehicle was reportedly totaled, with $12,000 being the estimated damage. The damage to the other vehicle was estimated at $15,000.
