UPDATE: One Dead After Wednesday Accident Near Duncan

DUNCAN, Neb. (AP) — Authorities say one person has died in a collision between a semitrailer and a pickup truck just east of Duncan in eastern Nebraska.

Columbus Fire Chief Dan Miller says the man was pronounced dead at the scene Wednesday. The collision occurred a little after 5 p.m. on U.S. Highway 30.

Platte County authorities haven’t released his name or other details about the crash.

The accident occurred just after 5:00 PM on Wednesday afternoon. Officials at the scene say a semi truck collided with a pickup truck traveling westbound on Highway 30. Rescue workers indicated that the accident caused injuries, the extent of which are unknown.

Rescue crews that responded included Columbus Fire and Rescue, Duncan Volunteer Fire Department, the Columbus Police Department, and the Platte County Sheriff’s Office.
