Big Fourth Inning Propels Columbus to Rivalry Win

NORFOLK – Norfolk ace Jaden Driscoll kept Columbus’ bats as chilly as the weather for three-plus innings, but the Discoverers came alive in the fourth, plating three runs en route to a 4-1 win.

Driscoll retired the first ten batters he faced, but in the top of the 4th, a Tyler Palmer single started a three-run rally, boosted by RBI singles by Trevor Kaslon and Jacob Morse, and a sac fly by Jared Nitz.

Columbus would add an insurance run the 6th courtesy of an RBI single by Logan Mueller, but the would have to fend off a furious rally by Norfolk late.

The Panthers loaded the bases with one out in the 7th, but after an RBI by Devon Demoss, Parker Hansen grounded into a game-ending double play.
