East Butler Rolls to 2nd State Title in School History

LINCOLN – The East Butler Tigers are state champions after a dominant performance on Monday morning.

East Butler claimed their second state title in school history thanks to a dominant air attack that led to a 36-14 win over South Loup in the D1 Final at Memorial Stadium.

The game would be tied 6-6 after the first quarter, but the Tiger went on to score 30 unanswered points before the Bobcats grabbed a consolation score with three seconds to play.

Dalton Bohac threw for 192 yards and five touchdowns on 10-for-14 passing. The senior also ran for 91 yards on 25 carries for East Butler in the victory.

Jaden Rhynalds and Trevor Havlovic each caught a pair of touchdowns and tallied 91 and 82 receiving yards respectively. Camden Robley also caught a score.

Jack Rush threw for 193 yards and two scores while also picking up 65 yards on the ground. Cade Connell led the Bobcats with 116 receiving yards and a score. Jace Connell added a touchdown on 54 receiving yards.

The Tigers’ first state title came in 1989.
