COLUMBUS – It was a back-and-forth battle between two cross-town rivals, but the Scotus Lady Shamrocks pulled away for the 43-35 victory against Lakeview to win their eighth straight Columbus Holiday Tournament.
Scotus lead by one at the end of the first quarter, and the game was tied 21-21 at the half, but Scotus utilized a 22-14 scoring advantage in the second half to pull away from the Viqueens. The Lady Shamrocks were also red-hot from beyond the arc, connecting on ten three pointers to keep themselves out ahead of Lakeview throughout.
Camille Pelan lead Scotus, and all scorers, with 19 points on six three pointers, including a successful four-point-play following a foul. Courtney Kosch added 13 for Scotus, with three three pointers of her own.
Lakeview, who fell to 7-2 with the loss, was lead by both Gracie Borer and Makenna Klug with 10 points, and Abby Kapels added eight in the loss.
Up next, Scotus, who improved to 6-3 with the win, will be on the road against York on January 3rd. Lakeview will be back in action on January 3rd, facing Douglas County West at home.
