Raiders Remain Undefeated After Downing Midland

COLUMBUS – Central Community College swept Midland JV Wednesday night, thanks to strong performances from several players.

The Raiders pulled out a tight win in the first match 26-24, but would take matches two and three 25-17 and 25-22 respectively. Chainey Tomkin snagged 8 kills and 5 assisted blocks, while Amber Anderson marked 8 kills and 4 assisted blocks. Paxton Throne led the team in assists at 27 with 15 digs, while Jess Eurek led the team defensively with 16 digs.

“It was great to get the win in straight sets while being tested.  Midland has a nice team –they play well at the net, they played good defense and served well—it was good to see our team stay patient and work together for the win,” says CCC Head Coach Mary Young.

The Raiders advance to 7-0 and will play in the NECC tourney on Friday and Saturday.
