COLUMBUS – Columbus High senior Larisa Rother will be continuing her softball career right here in Columbus.
Rother signed her letter of intent on Wednesday to play next season for the Central Community College Raiders. Rother signed while surrounded by family and friends, and says that she is very excited to be staying in Columbus for the next step of her academic and athletic journey.
The Discoverers finished the 2018 regular season at 11-20, but showed toughness in the District A-5 Tournament. Following an opening loss to Bellevue West, Columbus was able to rout Lincoln High 15-5, before ultimately being eliminated after another loss to Bellevue West.
Rother says that she will miss her teammates and coaches from Columbus, but that she’s excited to gain more experience playing with the Raiders, as she hopes to head to Wayne State following her time at Central.
