COLUMBUS – Despite scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter, the Scotus Shamrocks were unable to complete the comeback last week against West Point-Beemer in a 35-28 loss.
It was the second week in a row where the Shamrocks only lost by one score, as they fell on the road in Central City 28-20 on August 31. Coach Tyler Linder says that if the Shamrocks want to be successful this season, they need to be able to play for all four quarters.
Coach Linder said the emphasis this week in practice has been to start fast and to set the tempo. Linder also says that the Shamrocks are “right there”, but that they need to take the next step if they want to be contenders, and is excited for the opportunity to take on Pierce this week.
The Bluejays are coming off a 58-42 shootout victory over the Ord Chanticleers last week, and are a perfect 3-0 to start the 2018 season. It will be one of the last non-district games this season for Scotus, who will begin their District 4 schedule next week in another road game against Raymond Central.
