COLUMBUS – The Scotus Shamrocks were able to snap a three game losing streak with a 49-7 victory on the road over Raymond Central last week.
The Shamrocks dominated the Mustangs right out of the gate, taking a 35-0 lead into halftime. Ultimately, the Shamrocks would score 49 answered points through the first three quarters, and despite giving up a fourth quarter touchdown, dominated Raymond Central for their first District 4 win of the season, and improving to 2-3 on the year.
The Shamrocks will return home this week for their homecoming game, where they will be taking on another district opponent in the undefeated Bishop Neumann Cavaliers. Bishop Neumann remained undefeated after a comeback 29-22 victory over the previously undefeated Lakeview Vikings last week.
These two teams met early on in the 2017 season, with the Cavaliers taking a 21-3 victory over the Shamrocks. Scotus played tough for the first three quarters, as the Cavaliers only held a 7-3 lead heading into the fourth, but two quicks touchdowns in the final quarter sealed the victory for Bishop Neumann.
Scotus head coach Tyler Linder says that while homecoming is always an exciting time of the year, his team is focused on the task at hand, as Linder says the Shamrocks are never looking ahead or behind, but preparing for each opponent on a week-to-week basis.
The Shamrocks and the Cavaliers kick off at 7:00 PM on Friday night at Pawnee Park.
