Brandon Aksamit is an Anchor/Reporter for the Columbus News Team as well as the Play-by-Play Announcer for our live high school sports broadcasts. After graduating with a Broadcast Journalism degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in December of 2012 Brandon worked as a play-by-play announcer, sideline reporter, and show host where he covered collegiate and high school sports for NET, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, and the Nebraska Wesleyan Sports Network. Coming to us from Lincoln, Brandon’s first love is sports. He is an avid soccer fan and follows the English Premier League club Arsenal religiously.
Grant Otten was raised in Columbus and attended Columbus Public Schools, graduating from CHS in 2009. Grant went on to play college football at UNO and then Wayne State, graduating in 2014 with a degree in Broadcast Communications. Grant enjoys living in his hometown and looks forward to covering stories important to the folks in the Platte Valley.
Eric McKay originally hails from Michigan. He spent two years covering news and sports in Humboldt, Iowa before moving to Norfolk, Nebraska, where he's worked in news and sports since 2010. He's been named sportscaster of the year in both Nebraska and Iowa, and has won multiple awards for spot news and news reporting. He and his wife Libby have three children: Dante, Zain and Fallon. He looks forward to working with the young, talented Columbus News Team in covering the Platte Valley.

Austen Hagood is the Entertainment Correspondent for Columbus News Team. Originally from Texas where he got his start in radio, moved to Nebraska to join the team at US92 in Norfolk. He enjoys the lighter side of news and everything that comes with it, look for him at various restaurants, festivals and street dances as he brings the lighter side of the Platte Valley to you.
I've been a broadcaster since I was 15. I have a passion for objective news coverage that confronts community issues and showcases what makes the Columbus Area a special place to live. I married a Columbus girl, Mandi Guenrsey and we have two active boys, Brenden age 8 and Blake age 4. As owner of Columbus News Team, I have a powerful pride in our team and our plans to provide area news coverage in the Platte Valley.
