Homeland Security Issues Phone Scam Warning

Homeland Security Issues Phone Scam Warning

UNITED STATES – There’s a new scam in town and this one comes from a caller pretending to be from Department of Homeland Security.

Your phone will identify the call as coming from the DHS hotline: 1-800-323-8603.

Many of the scammers reportedly have strong accents.

According to DHS, the agency never uses its hotline number to make outgoing calls.

Consumers can still call the hotline to report waste, fraud and abuse.

If you think you’ve been targeted by this scam call the hotline or file a complaint on line at http://www.oig.dhs.gov.

We strive for accuracy. Report a typo, inaccuracy, or mistake here.
