Science teacher dead in morning crash

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – In a letter sent to parents Tuesday morning, Kiewit Middle School said it received word that 7th-grade science teacher David Markley died during his morning commute.

The school said the cause of death was a heart attack that led to a single car accident on Blair High Road near State Street.

WOWT was at the scene of the accident Tuesday morning while police were as Douglas County Sheriff’s were investigating the crash.

In the letter to parents, Kiewit Middle School said Markley was with the school for a decade.
